Grims Chests 0.4.0 brings two chests built for the season. Both are handed out by staff, both start as a Double Chest, and both keep their look through every upgrade, so a Netherite-tier chest can still be a jack-in-the-box.

The Jack-in-the-Box Chest

A weathered Halloween toy box. When anyone opens it, everyone nearby watches the crank turn, the lid flaps burst open, and a pumpkin-headed jack spring up and sway until the chest closes. Its carved face flickers like candlelight.

The Christmas Toy Chest

A red toy chest with a green lid and a big bow, wrapped in garland and coloured string lights that twinkle in a chase. Opening it springs a decorated tree up on a brass spring, its star lit, swaying until the chest closes.

Redstone, without the spam

Both chests answer to redstone. A lever, button, pressure plate, dust or a powered block beside the chest pops the animation silently, without opening the chest at all. After the power goes off there is a short cooldown, 2.5 seconds by default, before redstone can pop it again, so flicking a lever cannot replay the animation over and over. Servers can tune the wait or turn it off.

The same show on every edition

Java and Bedrock players see the same animations, the same menus and the same storage. The chests are storage first: every tier, every sub-chest and the shared auto-sort filter work exactly as they do on any other Grims Chest.

Staff issue them with /gch give, and vouchers make them safe loot-crate prizes. The Grims Chests player wiki covers the details, and the administrator wiki has the settings.
