One small checker. Fewer wrong menus.

Grims Client Checker is a new shared utility for Paper servers using Geyser and Floodgate. It detects the client details available for a connected player and gives integrated EGW plugins one consistent answer: should this player receive a regular inventory menu or a touch-friendly one?

Android does not automatically mean touch. A phone using a controller should still receive the standard layout, while a Bedrock player whose connection actually reports touch input can receive the mobile layout. Java, console, keyboard-and-mouse, and unknown inputs safely fall back to standard menus.

Players keep the final say

Players can privately check what the server detected with /gcc check. If their client reports something incorrectly, they can choose AUTO, CLASSIC, or MOBILE for their current connection.

Preferences reset when the player reconnects, so moving between a phone, PC, and console starts with a fresh detection instead of carrying an old device choice forward.

Useful for server staff, too

Administrators can inspect an online player, refresh a detection, review cache statistics, or reload the checker without exposing results to the rest of the server.

Client brand and advertised network channels can also provide possible mod-loader hints. Those reports are deliberately labeled as unverified: they are not a complete mod list, and an empty report never proves that a player has no mods.

A shared foundation for future EGW menus

Client Checker does not silently rewrite the menus in every existing plugin. Instead, it provides one shared service those plugins can adopt as their crossplay interfaces are updated. That keeps detection consistent and gives players one menu preference rather than a different setting in every plugin.

Installation, commands, player preferences, limitations, cache settings, and developer integration are covered in the Grims Client Checker Wiki.

Crossplay without compromise.
