Your storage can travel with you now.
Grims Backpacks adds portable inventories that players can wear on their backs. Each physical backpack has its own identity and stored contents, so players can carry, trade, and organize several backpacks without their inventories blending together.
The first Basic Leather Backpack offers 27 slots. Upgrades eventually reach a Netherite backpack with six separate 53-slot compartments, giving long-term players plenty of room without turning one screen into an endless wall of slots.
Built for Java and Bedrock
Backpacks have custom item and wearable models on both Java and Bedrock. Touchscreen Bedrock players receive a large-button compartment selector, while Java, controller, and keyboard-and-mouse players receive the familiar inventory-style menu.
Grims Client Checker handles that menu decision using the player’s current connection and input. The result is one backpack system with an interface that fits the person opening it.
Double-crouch, equip, and go
The latest 0.0.2 hotpatch expands the double-crouch shortcut:
- Double-crouch with a backpack in your main hand to equip it or swap it with the one you are wearing.
- Double-crouch otherwise to open your worn backpack—even while holding a placeable block.
- Sneak-use still places blocks normally, keeping crouch-building intact.
- Use
/bp settings doublecrouch offor/bp settings doublecrouch onto control the shortcut.
The shortcut starts enabled and the choice persists between logins. Existing backpack databases receive the new settings table automatically.
Upgradeable and seasonal
Backpacks progress through Leather, Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite tiers. Stored items and backpack identity stay intact while upgrading.
Halloween and Christmas backpacks are staff-issued seasonal variants. They begin with Basic capacity, cannot be crafted, and keep their special appearance through every upgrade.
A Netherite backpack also completes a fire-resistant set when worn with a Netherite helmet, leggings, and boots—protecting the wearer from lava, fire, campfires, magma blocks, and other fire-based damage while the full set remains equipped.
Crafting, capacities, player controls, resource-pack setup, administration, storage rules, backups, and troubleshooting are covered in the Grims Backpacks Wiki.
Crossplay without compromise.
