Player Guide

Open the catalog, find the item you need, donate your spares, and see where you stand on the boards.

Grims Donation Center is shared community storage for the whole server. Donate the items you don't need through a Trash Can, and the plugin sorts them into a catalog everyone can browse. This is version 0.7.0. Your server decides a few of the rules below, such as whether the /donations command is open to players.

Start Here

There are two ways into the catalog:

  • The command. Use /donations when command access is enabled.
  • A Donations access chest. If command access is disabled, open the access chest an administrator built. It opens the same menu, never the chest's own inventory.

You need donationcenter.use to browse and withdraw, which most servers grant to everyone.

  • Sorted catalog
  • Physical Trash Cans
  • Touch friendly form
  • Crossplay menus
  • 30-day leaderboards
  • Virtual storage

Browsing & Withdrawing

  1. Choose an item category from the main menu.
  2. Use Previous and Next when a category has more than one page.
  3. Select an item.
  4. Choose the amount and confirm the withdrawal.

The quantity window has add, remove, minimum, and maximum controls. Set the exact amount, then confirm it. There are no left-click or right-click quantity shortcuts.

Your selection can't exceed the available stock or your free inventory space.

How items are sorted

Every stored item lands in one of these categories:

  • Custom Named Items
  • Custom Items
  • Hostile Spawn Eggs
  • Neutral Spawn Eggs
  • Armor
  • Weapons
  • Tools
  • Shulker Boxes & End
  • Nether
  • Ocean
  • Wood & Timber
  • Wool & Fabric
  • Ores & Minerals
  • Stone & Masonry
  • Earth & Nature
  • Glass & Decoration
  • Farming & Food
  • Redstone & Transport
  • Mob Drops
  • Magic & Brewing
  • Miscellaneous

Each category page holds 45 item slots, with Previous, Back, Close, and Next along the bottom row. A category with more than 45 item types pages itself automatically.

Spawn eggs stay in a spawn egg category even when another plugin gives them a special name or marker. Other items with a custom name go to Custom Named Items, and items carrying another plugin's marker go to Custom Items.

Your Menu

Bedrock phone and tablet players get a simple withdrawal form automatically. Java, console Bedrock, and PC Bedrock players use the regular chest menus. Grims Client Checker makes that choice for you.

To pick your own menu style:

/gcc menu donationcenter mobile/gcc menu donationcenter classic/gcc menu donationcenter auto
  • Your choice is saved across logins, devices, and restarts.
  • The mobile form needs a Bedrock connection, so Java players always get the chest menus.
  • The form and the chest menus work the same as before. Only the way your menu is chosen changed in 0.7.0.

Donating Items

Donations go through a linked Trash Can chest, marked with a sign an administrator placed.

  1. Open a linked Trash Can chest.
  2. Place the items you want to donate inside.
  3. Close the chest.

When the final viewer closes the chest, accepted items move into virtual storage and show up in the catalog.

  • Only one player can use a Trash Can at a time.
  • Hoppers can't interact with Donation Center chests.
  • Deposits, withdrawals, rejections, and cleanup are all recorded.

Armor, Weapons & Tools

Equipment is grouped by condition, so the catalog doesn't fill up with near-identical entries:

Condition when donatedStored as
90% to 100%Fully repaired
60% to 89%75% condition
40% to 59%50% condition
Below 40%Rejected

Enchantments, names, lore, and other item data stay attached, unless the material is on your server's enabled cleaning whitelist.

Rejected gear gets one grace period. Worn out equipment stays in the physical Trash Can, and the next player who opens it gets a warning. If it's still there when that chest closes, it is deleted and logged. Take it back before then if you want it.

Command Trash Can

Java players who are specifically granted donationcenter.command-deposit can donate without walking to a chest:

/donations deposit

This opens a Java-only virtual Trash Can. Place items inside and close the menu to donate them.

  • The permission is off by default, so ask the staff if the command doesn't work.
  • The command menu isn't available to Bedrock players.

No grace period here. Equipment below 40% condition is deleted immediately, because the command menu has no chest to leave it in. Use a physical Trash Can if you want the warning first.

Leaderboards

The Donation Center tracks total donated items, the estimated value of those donations, and items withdrawn during the server's 30-day period. Donors are ranked either by the number of items they donated or by the estimated value, whichever your server picked.

Your server can put up to four display signs near the Donation Center:

SignShows
1Top donor names and scores
2Full donor totals
3Top withdrawal names
4Full withdrawal totals

The boards cover the top three donors and the top three players withdrawing items. Withdrawal totals are counted separately and never change the donor rankings.
