Goofy backyard gadgets for Java and Bedrock (through Geyser): five toys, and two kinds of ammo for the Potato Cannon. GrimsBladeFX makes them work.

Minecraft 26.3. This release is for Minecraft Java 26.3 (resource pack format 97.1) on Paper 26.3, with Packforge 0.2.0 or newer as the content host, Geyser 2.12.0 or newer for Bedrock players and GrimsBladeFX 1.0.0 or newer; INSTALL.md has the steps. 1.3.0 is the 26.3 port of 1.2.0: the same items, item IDs, looks, recipes and effects file. For Minecraft 26.2, use 1.2.0, kept in the EGW 26.2 content archive (archive/minecraft-26.2-content/packs/GrimsBackyardToys-Complete-1.2.0.zip).

What's new in 1.3.0: Minecraft 26.3

  • For Minecraft 26.3 only. The same seven items as 1.2.0, with the same looks, item IDs, recipes and

effects file: nothing a player sees changes. The Java pack declares resource pack format 97.1 (min_format 97, max_format [97, 1]); on Minecraft 26.2 use 1.2.0 (above).

  • The effects file is still revision 5, byte for byte GrimsBladeFX 1.0.0's own (and 0.9.0's), so a

server copy from 1.2.0 needs nothing: unedited it is this file, edited it keeps your values and every toy.

  • 26.3's model key for unshaded planes. On Java, the Lawn Dart's and the bubble's crossed planes (on the

lawn and in flight) and the bubble round a floating mob now say "shade_direction_override": "up", the key 26.3 put in place of "shade": false (vanilla's own plants say the same). They look the same.

  • Bedrock players get the pack again because its version changed (its UUIDs did not). On the server, take

the 1.2.0 mcpack out of Geyser's packs folder first (INSTALL.md).

What's new in 1.2.0

  • The Bubble Gun, a chunky mint-green toy bubble pistol with a bottle of bubble mix on top and a round

lavender wand ring at the muzzle. Each right-click blows one slow, straight bubble; a mob it touches floats up out of reach, drifts gently back down and lands unhurt, and cannot hurt anyone while it floats (below, "The Bubble Gun"). It is craftable like the other toys (below, "Crafting"). It needs GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0 or newer; the other toys still run on 0.8.0.

  • New defaults from GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0's effects file, which this pack ships (revision 5): the Potato

Cannon's shot leaves the barrel at 3 blocks a tick (was 1.4), so it flies faster and flatter; the Leaf Blower whooshes every 10 ticks, half a second (was every 2 seconds); and the blower's leaf puffs now start at the nozzle of the first-person carry 1.1.1 brought (its muzzle side 0.3, down 0.5; was 0.1, 0.44, which started them a little left of and above the nozzle). Everything else is as in 1.1.1.

  • Bedrock players get the new pack because its version changed. On the server, delete the older Backyard

mcpack from Geyser's packs folder before copying this one in (INSTALL.md).

1.1.1 carried the Leaf Blower and the Toy Chainsaw under the hand in first person, on Java and Bedrock, and brought the defaults tuned in game (the cannon at Knockback 15, a stronger blower, the Kite's Slow Falling III). 1.1.0 added the Leaf Blower, the Kite, the Toy Chainsaw, the Water Balloon and the Lawn Dart, each with a recipe.

It needs GrimsBladeFX 1.0.0 or newer

Everything the toys do comes from GrimsBladeFX, from its effects file effects/egw_backyard.yml (this pack ships it, below). Update GrimsBladeFX to 1.0.0 or newer first: it is GrimsBladeFX's first Minecraft 26.3 build.

  • GrimsBladeFX 1.0.0 or newer: every toy works. The effects file this pack ships is GrimsBladeFX

1.0.0's own (revision 5, the same bytes as 0.9.0's): GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0 or newer writes it by itself when the file is missing, and upgrades a copy nobody edited to it (below, "Updating the effects file").

  • Older GrimsBladeFX releases are Minecraft 26.2 builds, never checked on 26.3 (a 26.2 server takes this

pack's 1.2.0). On 26.2, GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0 runs every toy with this same file, and the older ones read it as follows.

  • GrimsBladeFX 0.8.0, 0.8.1 or 0.8.2: the Potato Cannon, its ammo, the Leaf Blower, the Kite and the Toy

Chainsaw work with this pack's file, with the new values (speed 3, the whoosh, the muzzle), but the Bubble Gun does nothing: those releases refuse only its entry (its gravity, touch and float are new in 0.9.0), and the console says so on every start and /gbladefx reload (three effects.bad_entry lines naming bubble_gun). They never upgrade a server copy to this file: copy it in yourself (INSTALL.md, step 3).

  • GrimsBladeFX 0.7.2 or older refuses this pack's effects file (its settings and actions from 0.8.0 are

unknown there), and then even the Potato Cannon stops firing, not only the other toys.

Without GrimsBladeFX the toys are props: a right-click does nothing, the kite gives nothing, the bubble gun blows nothing, and the chainsaw still mines only wood (its own item does that) but never fells a tree.

The Potato Cannon

A classic backyard spud gun with a long white PVC launch tube, a fat combustion chamber with SPUD stencilled on it, duct tape wound round the joint (its last turn askew, a torn tag hanging loose) and round a repair partway along the barrel, a C.M. maker's mark on the barrel, and a red BBQ-grill igniter button on top.

  • Ammo: the real thing. Each shot uses one item from your inventory, and that item is what flies, the same

on Java and Bedrock. No ammo, no shot: you get a sad click instead.

  • Potatoes, Knockback 15:
  • a potato just hits;
  • a baked potato is a hot spud: it trails smoke all the way there, from the barrel until it hits or

lands, and it sets the target on fire for a moment;

  • a poisonous potato gives the target a few seconds of nausea.
  • Tomatoes and beetroots:
  • a Grims Crops tomato (needs Grims Crops 0.15.6 or newer, its 26.3 build), Knockback 7, does the damage and a

juicy splat, and nothing else;

  • a vanilla beetroot, Knockback 10, does the damage and a purple splat, and makes the target glow for

10 seconds (Java players see the glow; Bedrock has no glowing effect, so Bedrock players do not).

  • Backyard ammo (new in 1.1.0):
  • a Water Balloon, Knockback 5, soaks (below);
  • a Lawn Dart, Knockback 20, is a heavy dart (below).
  • Picking the ammo. Like a bow with arrows, a shot takes from your off hand first, then your hotbar from

left to right, then the rest of your inventory. To choose the ammo, put it in your off hand. A Bedrock off hand can hold Water Balloons and Lawn Darts (they then fire first) but not potatoes or beetroots: with no ammo in the off hand, the first ammo in your hotbar fires.

  • Damage: 4 per hit for potatoes, tomatoes and beetroots, 8 for a Lawn Dart, none for a Water Balloon.
  • Knockback: potatoes hit like a Knockback 15 enchantment (whatever they hit goes flying); a Lawn Dart

pushes hardest, like Knockback 20; a beetroot like Knockback 10, a tomato like 7; a Water Balloon like Knockback 5, a small shove. A player wearing a full Space Cadet set ignores the knockback (the damage still lands).

  • Cooldown: one shot every 6 seconds per player, whatever the ammo, shown as the grey sweep on the cannon's

hotbar slot on both editions.

  • It never costs durability.

Thanks to Crimson Moth for the idea: the C.M. stencilled on the barrel is theirs.

The Water Balloon (cannon ammo)

"Soak first. Ask questions later." A soak, not a hit:

  • No damage at all. A mob flinches but loses no health; a player sees no red flash.
  • A big splash and a pop. A burning target is put out (with a fizz), then gets 3 seconds of Slowness and a

small shove (Knockback 5). A player is pushed on their own screen too.

  • PvP and land claims decide it like any hit: where PvP is off, or on a claim that protects the target, it only

splashes.

  • A raised shield facing the shot blocks it: no push and no Slowness.
  • A full Space Cadet set is not slowed and not moved, but it is still put out.
  • A target hurt in the last half second (its hurt cooldown) only gets the splash: the second of two balloons on

one mob within half a second, or a balloon just after the fire hurt a burning target. Fire hurts once a second, so about every other balloon on a burning target only splashes: fire another.

  • A miss splashes where it lands and leaves nothing behind.

The Lawn Dart (cannon ammo)

"Banned for a reason." A heavy dart: 8 damage (4 hearts; a potato does 2), a hard shove (Knockback 20, more than a potato's 15) and a thunk. A raised shield blocks it.

A miss sticks in the lawn. A dart that lands on the ground stays there for 4 seconds, then crumbles away. Nobody can pick it up, and hoppers ignore it. A dart that hits a wall drops and sticks at the foot of the wall; one that lands in water or lava is gone. On Java it stands upright, tip down; on Bedrock it shows as its icon.

Only real pack balloons and darts fire (crafted, or given with /pf give or /pf give). A look-alike made with /give never does; a renamed real one still does.

The Leaf Blower

"Leaves. Mobs. Little brothers." A chunky toy leaf blower with a teal blow tube. In first person you carry it by its top handle, the blower hanging under your hand, low on the right, the tube pointing in toward the crosshair.

  • Hold right-click to blow: gusts push mobs, players, dropped items and things in flight (arrows, snowballs,

even a potato someone just fired) away from you, in a cone about 6 blocks long in front of the nozzle, with leaf puffs and a whoosh. Let go and it stops at once; so does switching slot.

  • How hard (the shipped defaults): a gust every 4 ticks, strongest at the nozzle with 80 % of it left at the

far end, never faster than 1 block a tick, with a small hop off the ground; a whoosh every half second. The leaf puffs start at the nozzle.

  • It never hurts anything: no damage, no red flash, no angry mobs. It pushes along the ground only: aiming up

never lifts anything into the air.

  • PvP and land claims decide who may be pushed: other players only where PvP is on; animals only where you

may hurt animals or build; dropped items only where you may interact or build; hostile mobs anywhere. Nothing is pushed through a wall.

  • Never moved: iron golems, wardens, a full Space Cadet set, bosses, armour stands, anyone flying or gliding,

and a Lawn Dart stuck in the lawn. Netherite armour is moved less.

  • One hold lasts at most 30 seconds. On Java it starts again by itself while you keep holding.
  • While a real blower is in your main hand, your off hand does nothing on a right-click (it never eats your food

or raises a shield). A right-click on a chest or a door still opens it: sneak to blow at one.

  • Blowing costs no durability. You walk at normal speed while you blow, but cannot sprint.

The Kite

"Hold on tight. Falling is optional." A red and yellow diamond kite flying a block and a half over your head, tilted back into the wind like a real kite, on a line from a wooden winder in your fist. In first person you see only the winder and the line.

  • Hold it in your main hand and you get Slow Falling III (the effect icon without a timer on Java): you

float down gently and take no fall damage. Slow Falling works the same at every level; the III only shows on the icon.

  • The effect goes the moment the kite leaves your main hand: switching slot, dropping it, putting it in a chest,

or (Java) moving it to the off hand. In the off hand it gives nothing.

  • After a death it comes back only with keepInventory, with the kite still in your main hand.

The Toy Chainsaw

"Safe for hands. Only cuts wood." A purple kids' toy chainsaw with fat, rubbery cream teeth. In first person you carry it by its top handle, the saw under your hand, low on the right, the bar pointing in toward the crosshair.

  • It hits like an empty hand: 1 damage (half a heart) and an empty hand's knockback, whatever it hits, with a

toy buzz and "Safe for hands." on your action bar.

  • It only cuts wood: logs, wood and stems (stripped too), bamboo, planks, and wooden slabs, stairs, fences,

gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons and pressure plates, signs, ladders and mangrove roots. It cuts them fast (a log in a quarter of a second), at 1 durability a block. It cannot break anything else at all: stone, dirt, grass, flowers, torches, crops, chests, barrels, bookshelves, shelves, crafting tables and the other work blocks, and note blocks (Grims Crops' crops) give a click and "Only cuts wood." In creative it breaks nothing, like a sword.

  • It fells whole trees. Cut a natural log and the whole tree above the cut comes down in a moment. The logs

land at the stump, the stump below the cut stays, and the leaves fall apart by themselves over the next few minutes, dropping saplings and apples.

  • Only a cut natural overworld log starts a fell: not nether stems, wood blocks, stripped logs or planks.

Only the cut log's own kind falls, never below the cut, and at most 16 blocks out to the side.

  • Each log is your own break, so WorldGuard and land claims judge every log: a tree on a region's border loses

only the logs you may break.

  • It costs 1 durability per log (Unbreaking helps).
  • Swapping the saw out of that hotbar slot, walking more than 24 blocks away or logging out stops the fell; the

logs above stay.

  • When a tree will not fell, only the cut log breaks, and your action bar says why:
  • it has more than 320 logs ("This tree is too big to fell.");
  • part of it is in an unloaded chunk;
  • a creaking heart guards it;
  • something is built against it: planks, glass, doors, torches, chests and the like (a treehouse protects its

tree, and a log cabin never falls);

  • too few natural leaves touch it (leaves a player placed do not count);
  • it does not grow out of the ground;
  • someone stands on it: a player, or a tamed or named mob;
  • the chainsaw has less durability left than the tree has logs ("Too worn to fell this tree.");
  • too many trees are falling on the server right now.
  • Grims Trees: elders and willows fell (their far leaf clumps float afterwards: GrimsTrees makes them

permanent leaves); cathedrals do not.

  • Only a real pack chainsaw fells. A look-alike still only cuts wood.

The Bubble Gun

"Up they go. Down they drift." A chunky mint-green toy bubble pistol with cream trim, a bottle of light-blue bubble mix standing on top and a round lavender wand ring at the muzzle. You hold it like the Potato Cannon, on top of your hand, pointing straight ahead. It needs GrimsBladeFX 1.0.0 or newer (on 26.2, 0.9.0).

  • Right-click blows one bubble. It flies straight (it does not drop) and slowly, slowing down like a real

bubble, and pops on the first mob or player in its way, on a block, in water or lava, or by itself after 3 seconds (about 20 blocks at most).

  • One bubble every 6 seconds per player, shown as the grey sweep on the gun's hotbar slot on both editions.

No ammo: nothing is used up, and it never costs durability.

  • A mob it touches floats. It gets Slow Falling, then Levitation: it rises about 3.5 blocks, out of reach,

for 4 seconds, then drifts gently down and is back on the ground about 5 seconds after the touch. It takes no fall damage.

  • It never hurts anything: no damage, no red flash, no flinch, no angry mob, and an enderman does not

teleport away from the bubble.

  • A floating mob is calm. At the touch it forgets its target and stops walking, and until its Slow Falling

ends (10 seconds after the touch, so a few seconds after it lands) it takes no new target: its arrows, potions, fireballs and other shots are cancelled as they leave it, a creeper's blast fizzles, and its hits do nothing. Hurting it ends the calm: it can fight back at once.

  • Piglins, piglin brutes, hoglins, zoglins, breezes and creakings keep the target they already had. Their

attacks are still cancelled while they are calm, but they come straight back at you when it ends.

  • A creeper that was already swelling keeps hissing; every blast fizzles while it is calm. Step away before

the calm ends.

  • Who floats: mobs only, hostile mobs, animals and villagers (a Grims Super Spawners stack floats as one

mob). Players never float (an admin can turn that on). These just pop the bubble:

  • pets: a tamed, named, leashed or saddled mob, and a mob carrying a rider or riding something;
  • bosses (the ender dragon, the wither, the warden, the elder guardian), armour stands, NPCs, and mobs the

float cannot move (shulkers, ghasts, happy ghasts, phantoms, allays, mobs with no AI);

  • anything in water or lava;
  • a mob already floating, or still drifting down: once it has landed it can be bubbled again.
  • PvP and land claims decide, as for the Leaf Blower: hostile mobs float anywhere; animals and villagers only

where you may hurt them.

  • What you see: the bubble flying, a pop and sparkles where it touches, and the effect swirls while the mob

floats. On Java a see-through bubble also wraps the mob while it rises, and pops at the top. Bedrock players do not see that bubble round the mob (below, "Bedrock").

  • Only a real pack Bubble Gun blows bubbles (crafted, or given with /pf give or /pf give). A look-alike made

with /give never does.

For server admins

Every toy's numbers are set in GrimsBladeFX, not in this pack: in GrimsBladeFX's effects/egw_backyard.yml. Change a value there and run /gbladefx reload: the change works on Java and Bedrock at once, with no pack rebuild and no restart.

  • The Potato Cannon's cooldown is on the line marked THE POTATO CANNON COOLDOWN IS SET HERE (6 seconds by

default), under potato_cannon:. The damage, the knockback and the ammo list are there too. The pack's item only names the cooldown group (egw_backyard:potato_cannon), so never set the length in the pack.

  • The ammo rows: the hot spud's smoke trail is on the baked potato's trail: line (2 puffs of large smoke a

tick; count: 1 for a thinner line), the beet's glow on the beetroot's on-hit: line, and the Water Balloon and the Lawn Dart are the last two rows of the cannon's ammo list.

  • The Potato Cannon's shot speed is its speed: (3 blocks a tick, the most it takes).
  • The Leaf Blower is under leaf_blower: (its reach, its cone, its strength, how often it whooshes,

sound-every:, and where the gusts start, its muzzle:, measured on the nozzle of the first-person carry). The Kite is under kite:. The Toy Chainsaw is under toy_chainsaw:: the biggest tree it fells (max-logs: 320), how far out (radius: 16), and where the logs land (drops: stump, or in-place for where each log was). Its wood list is the same list as the chainsaw item's own tool: leave it as it is.

  • The Bubble Gun is under bubble_gun:. Its cooldown is on the line marked `THE BUBBLE GUN COOLDOWN IS SET

HERE (6 seconds by default); the pack's item only names the cooldown group (egw_backyard:bubble_gun). The bubble's speed: and lifetime: are there, and under its on-hit: the action: float row: how high and how long (levitation:, slow-falling:, which GrimsBladeFX keeps long enough to cover the landing), who floats (targets: [mobs]; add players to bubble players too, where PvP and claims allow it), the pets it spares (spare:), calm:, and the Java bubble round the mob (shell:`; take that line out for no bubble round the mob).

  • The look items. configs/backyard.yml also lists egw_backyard:bubble (the bubble that flies) and

egw_backyard:bubble_shell (the Java bubble round a floating mob). GrimsBladeFX shows them; nobody crafts or holds them, so they have no recipe. Leave them in the file.

  • Leave the toys' components alone in configs/backyard.yml (each one has a comment saying so). The Leaf

Blower's hour-long consumable and its use_effects are what let GrimsBladeFX hold it "in use" while you hold right-click: it is never eaten (GrimsBladeFX cancels any try) and you keep your walking speed. The chainsaw's tool is what makes it mine only wood. The kite and the chainsaw have no right-click of their own.

The risks to think about:

  • The cannon can knock players off things. Knockback 15 (20 for a Lawn Dart) sends a player or a mob a long

way. Next to a ledge, lava or the void that can kill them (the fall, the lava or the void does it, not the potato), and a hit can push a player out of a safe spot. Think about spawn, PvP arenas and builds over the void. A player in a full Space Cadet set is not moved.

  • The Leaf Blower can push mobs and players (where PvP is on) off a ledge too; it never hurts them itself.
  • The Kite means no fall damage while it is held. Switching to the kite a moment before landing from a big fall

saves nearly all of it, and with an elytra it gives a slow glide. Think about PvP arenas and parkour.

  • The Toy Chainsaw only fells what the player may break: every log goes through WorldGuard and your land

claims.

  • The Bubble Gun lifts a mob into whatever is above it. A ceiling stops the rise; a Nether lava ceiling

burns it; powder snow freezes it; a portal overhead can take it away. A mob that drifts off a ledge is still covered by its Slow Falling for about 25 blocks of drop after it lands, but anything that takes the Slow Falling away early (a wandering trader's milk, a totem, another plugin) can let it fall hard; on a Grims Super Spawners stack that fall can kill many members at once. One player can keep a mob out of a fight by bubbling it every 6 seconds: that is the toy's point.

Making any toy admin-only is one line each: see "Make a toy admin-only (no crafting)" below.

Updating the effects file. Update GrimsBladeFX to 1.0.0 or newer first. The sure way is then to copy this release's effects/egw_backyard.yml over the server's copy and run /gbladefx reload (if you edited yours, make your changes again in the new one afterwards).

  • A copy nobody edited upgrades itself to this release's file on the next start or /gbladefx reload with

GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0 or newer. The old one is kept beside it: egw_backyard.yml.0.8.1.bak from 1.1.1, egw_backyard.yml.0.8.0.bak from 1.1.0, egw_backyard.yml.0.7.2.bak from 1.0.2, egw_backyard.yml.0.7.1.bak from 1.0.0 or 1.0.1. A copy from 1.2.0 is this file already: nothing upgrades.

  • A copy you edited (the cooldown changed, say) is never overwritten: it keeps running its own values. An

edited 1.2.0 copy is revision 5 already, so it has every toy with your numbers. With an older one the console names what this file would add (effects.upgrade_skipped, the Bubble Gun first), and it has no Bubble Gun (the gun does nothing) until you move it out of effects/, run /gbladefx reload (GrimsBladeFX writes this file) and make your changes again in the new one. An edited 1.1.x copy has every other toy, with your numbers; an edited 1.0.x copy still fires the cannon's old ammo, but has no Water Balloons or Lawn Darts, and the Leaf Blower, the Kite and the Toy Chainsaw do nothing either.

  • On GrimsBladeFX 0.8.0 to 0.8.2 (26.2 builds) nothing upgrades to this file: copy it over the server's copy yourself.

The other toys then run with the new values, and the Bubble Gun does nothing until GrimsBladeFX 0.9.0.

Crafting

Every recipe is in configs/backyard_recipes.yml, at a crafting table (the Water Balloon also fits the 2 x 2 grid in your inventory). A recipe smaller than 3 x 3 works anywhere on the table, and mirrored. The empty slots must stay empty.

Potato Cannon:

[iron ingot] [iron ingot] [piston ]
[    -     ] [    -     ] [flint and steel]

Two iron ingots are the pipe, the piston is the combustion chamber and the flint and steel is the igniter, under the chamber.

Leaf Blower:

[iron ingot] [iron ingot] [wind charge]
[    -     ] [    -     ] [redstone   ]

Two iron ingots are the blow tube, the wind charge is the gust and the redstone is the motor, under it.

Kite:

[  -  ] [paper ] [  -  ]
[paper] [stick ] [paper]
[  -  ] [string] [  -  ]

Three paper are the sail on a stick spar, and the string is the line.

Toy Chainsaw:

[iron chain] [iron chain] [iron axe]
[    -     ] [string    ] [redstone]

Two iron chains are the chain, the iron axe is the cutter, and under them the string is the pull cord and the redstone the motor.

Bubble Gun:

[wind charge] [slime ball] [water bucket]
[     -     ] [    -     ] [redstone    ]

The wind charge is the puff, the slime ball the soap and the water bucket the bubble mix (you get the empty bucket back), with the redstone trigger under the mix.

Water Balloon (makes 4):

[water bucket]
[slime ball  ]

A water bucket over a slime ball. It fits the 2 x 2 grid in your inventory too, and you get the empty bucket back.

Lawn Dart (makes 4):

[iron nugget]
[stick      ]
[feather    ]

An iron nugget (the spike) over a stick (the shaft) over a feather (the fins), like an arrow. Three rows, so it needs a crafting table.

Who can craft them. Every Backyard Toys recipe carries one recipe permission, backyard, so you choose who can craft the toys and the ammo:

  • Players need pf.recipe.backyard to craft this pack’s recipes.
  • pf.recipe.* grants recipe permissions for all packs. Use a pack-specific node when you want narrower access.

Without the grant, only operators and wildcard holders can take the result. Grant pf.recipe.backyard to the appropriate group. items.open-recipes-without-permission does not bypass an explicit pack permission.

Make a toy admin-only (no crafting)

Every recipe has its own on/off switch, so only an admin can hand that item out.

For manual installation in Packforge:

  1. Open plugins/Packforge/contents/egw_backyard/configs/backyard_recipes.yml.
  2. Under the item's id (potato_cannon:, leaf_blower:, kite:, toy_chainsaw:, bubble_gun:,

water_balloon: or lawn_dart:), change enabled: true to enabled: false (the comment above it says the same). Leave its permission: line as it is.

  1. Run /pf reload. Nobody can craft it now, recipe permission or not; give it with

/pf give <player> egw_backyard:<id>, for example /pf give <player> egw_backyard:potato_cannon.

Set it back to true and run /pf reload to allow crafting again (for players with the recipe permission, above).

Packforge reads the same enabled: flag: a recipe set to false is not registered, and one already registered is taken away. Edit Packforge's copy, plugins/Packforge/items/egw_backyard/backyard_recipes.yml, then run /pf reload (that copy is where /pf move puts it; if you copied the pack straight into Packforge's contents/, edit plugins/Packforge/contents/egw_backyard/configs/backyard_recipes.yml instead, and /pf reload copies it over). Give it with /pf give <player> egw_backyard:<id>. With both plugins installed, set it to false in both copies.

Installing a newer release of this pack brings the file back with every recipe enabled: true: switch them off again after an update.

Bedrock

  • Every toy is 3D in the hand on both editions, in first and third person. Bedrock players cannot move a toy to

the off hand (the Bedrock item keeps held toys in the main hand); a Java player's off-hand toy shows on Bedrock in third person.

  • The Potato Cannon fires with a right-click, a controller trigger or a tap: the Bedrock item is set up so

every use reaches the server, touch included. The cooldown sweep shows on Bedrock too.

  • The ammo. What flies is the ammo item itself: a potato or a beetroot looks the same on both editions, and a

tomato looks the way Grims Crops draws it on each. Bedrock draws a Water Balloon or a Lawn Dart from its icon in the inventory, on the ground and in flight (about a quarter block across), and as a small 3D one in the hand. A Bedrock player can hold balloons and darts in the off hand, and the cannon fires them first. Your own first person on Bedrock does not draw the off hand's balloons or darts, but they are there (third person and other players show them).

  • The hot spud's smoke trail shows on Bedrock as Bedrock's own large smoke, and the Water Balloon's splash as its

own water splash. The beet's glow does not show on Bedrock (Bedrock has no glowing effect); Java players still see a Bedrock player glow.

  • The Leaf Blower: hold (touch, controller or mouse) for steady gusts until you let go; a quick tap gives a

short burst of about 1.5 seconds.

  • The Kite floats a Bedrock player down the same way. In first person Bedrock shows only the winder and the

line, as Java does.

  • The Toy Chainsaw cuts the same wood on Bedrock. A Bedrock client may show a crack on a block the saw cannot

cut and then put the block back: the server never lets it break.

  • The Bubble Gun blows with a right-click, a controller trigger or a tap, and the float is the server's, so a

bubbled mob rises, drifts down and stays calm the same on both editions. Bedrock draws the flying bubble from its icon (about a quarter block across; Java draws it a little bigger, with a faint soap film) and shows the pop's splash and sparkles and the effect swirls, but not the see-through bubble round a floating mob: Geyser cannot show it, so that bubble is Java only.

Static validation passed (strict converter build, 0 px round trip, first person within 0.001 px of Java on Bedrock, Java/Bedrock parity, every recipe unique against vanilla 26.3 and the other EGW packs). 1.1.0 was played on Java and Bedrock, and the defaults were tuned in game on it; 1.1.1's first-person carry and 1.2.0's Bubble Gun have not been seen in game yet, and nothing of 1.3.0 has run on Minecraft 26.3 yet.

Visual effects dependency

BladeFX requires Packforge and does not work with third-party pack-host plugins. It supplies the configured visuals, custom projectiles and effect-driven abilities. Ordinary armour, clothing and other pack items do not need BladeFX simply to display or be equipped.
